Siyar (Taher Abdullah Taher) lives in a small kurdish village in northern Iraq. Although he is still a teenager, but since the death of his father, he has to make the decisions as head of the family. When his older sister disappears shortly before her arranged marriage, Siyar is sent on an adventurous journey across Europe with an honor killing in order to save his reputation. In Istanbul he met the girl Evin (Suzan Ilir) know. She clings to his heels to go to Berlin. After initial reluctance Siyar learns to know by Evin a new vision of the world. The first long feature film of living in Norway, kurdish director Hisham Zaman takes the viewer without moralizing in a world that is so close and yet sometimes appears so far. A true cinema trip: emotional, great illustrated and superbly played - in addition to several awards for the film, the two young protagonists have been awarded for their achievements internationally at festivals.
